Events

Our special events bring together our community, volunteers and team in support of the survivors we serve through our crisis services, emergency shelter and transitional housing.

Whether you join us to raise funds or collect supplies, our goal is the same: to empower freedom from domestic violence.

Together we can help survivors find the physical and emotional safety they need to rebuild their lives.

Illuminate: Hope Shines Here

Friendship Home invites you to Illuminate – a night where purpose shines brighter than anything else. More than just a gala, Illuminate is a heartfelt gathering dedicated to hope, healing, and the unwavering support of survivors of domestic violence.

For years, Safe Quarters has brought our community together, standing with survivors, knocking on doors, and bringing our mission to the doorsteps of Lincoln households. This year, we turn the page and introduce Illuminate, a new tradition that continues our shared commitment in an inspiring and deeply impactful way. This elegant night, decked out in purple, will be an evening to gather, reflect, and act, because no one should have to walk the path to safety alone.

This two-day event is held in partnership with StarTran and Alpha Media in the spring each year. Stuff the Bus helps raise awareness about domestic violence and is an opportunity for community members to provide needed items for families served by Friendship Home.

Please stayed tuned for the 2026 Stuff the Bus dates.

The best ideas to raise funds and collect essential items needed by families we serve come from generous individuals just like you!

Whether a small or large event collecting new items, jeans day at your workplace, an online Facebook campaign, golf tournament or other creative event idea, our Development team would like to support your initiative.

We can help provide the awareness and marketing tools you need. Do you have a great idea to help survivors of domestic violence? Email Whitney or call 402-434-0167.
